New Syllabus of class 11 and 12 for New Sessions
Government of Nepal, Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Curriculum Development Center, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur has published the new curriculum of Secondary Level Grade 11 and 12. This new syllabus will implement from the upcoming academic session. In this article, you will find the subjects included in the new curriculum of grades 11 and 12. Previously, in the year 2072 BS, the Ministry of Education replaced the percentage system with the grading system for the board exam of grade 10. This also led to a change in the system of School Leaving Certificate (SLC) to Secondary Education Examination (SEE). Subsequently, the Higher Secondary Examination Board (HSEB) was also changed to Nepal Examination Board (NEB). Indeed, the board examinations of Grade 10, 11, and 12 are referred to as a milestone in students’ academic careers.
Introducing the New Curriculum
Meanwhile, the pandemic of COVID-19 has affected every nation and every aspect of our lives. It has severely affected the education system. The schools and colleges are closed. The examinations are either postponed or canceled. Moreover, this also resulted in the cancellation of the SEE examination of 2076 BS. The result has been recently published with reference to the markings of the internal examination conducted by the schools themselves.
As everything has come to some sort of pause or break, we believe, this is the prime time to change the academic systems. Changing the syllabus for classes 11 and 12 was under consideration after introducing the grading system in SEE. However, it seems now is the time it needs to be implemented. The Curriculum Development Centre of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has published the official notice to implement the new curriculum from the coming academic session.
Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST) has approved the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), 2076 addressing the changed socio-political condition of the country and the current needs of the learners. This grade 11and 12 curriculum is developed in line with the acknowledgment of the new NCF. The present curriculum addresses the types of reading and writing skills that are necessary for the students in their real life.
